Absolutely superb undyed smoked haddock just about ruined at the end of the recipe by the addition of 500ml of ‘double cream’ that turns out to not be double cream at all and smells strongly of margarine. The smell hit me as I mixed it in to the chowder. Such a shame and doesn’t do the otherwise high quality produce any justice. The milk was fresh milk and supplied in 2 plastic bags, better to have provided long life cream or fresh cream in plastic bags than the ‘pour and more’ cartons.
