Description
Introduction Situated in the Preignac commune, neighbour to Châteaux d’Yquem, Suduiraut and Lafaurie-Peraguey, this is a classically balanced, pretty Sauternes.
Background This vineyard is divided into 3 individual parcels, one of which is situated next to the great Château d’Yquem. This parcel is always harvested first when it has reached a good level of ripeness, not yet fully botrytised. Attacked by noble botrytis, grapes become shrivelled, their grape sugars concentrated through losing water , all the while retaining acidity The other two areas are allowed to become fully botrytised – climate permitting. This practice ensures consistent well-balanced acidity in the blend, the better to complement the richness of the wine.

Tasting note
Enticingly aromatic and floral nose on the nose, this ticks all of the boxes for prettiness and floral charm. There is tropical fruit here, melon and lychee, touched by traces of honey. Chilled, it works beautifully with savoury dishes such as rich pâtés, with blue cheese (Roquefort sublime) as well as not too sweet desserts. The finish offers honeysuckle, marmalade and upbeat freshness
